EMI Causes and Cures

Controlling EMI boils down to three basic issues.

1. Control noise sources. These are Ringing, Cross Talk, Ground Bounce, Simultaneous Switching Noise, etc.

2. Do not create efficient antennas. This is related to cables, grounding, routing, via structures, and I/O filtering.

3. When all else fails put the system inside a Faraday cage.

Since all of these subjects are addressed in depth in other classes, the EMI control class is simply another title for either the one day Pro Tune Up class or the three day Process Implementation class.
